Payments

We tailor a solution to your requirements and help optimise your processing costs, ensuring more of your revenue stays where it belongs - in your business.

Ways to Take Payment

Card Payments

Navigating the merchant services market in the UK can be complex. Choosing a specialised broker or independent payment advisor that partners with multiple acquiring banks offers a clear strategic advantage over approaching a single bank directly.

What Does an Independent Card Machine Business Do?

At Alliance Connectivity we evaluate a business's operational needs—including sales volume, average transaction value, sector risk, and preferred hardware—and matches them with the right payment acquiring bank. Rather than locking a business into a standard “one-size-fits-all” contract, Alliance Connectivity leverages its network of acquiring partners to negotiate tailored transaction rates, hardware terms, and settlement schedules.

Countertop, Portable and Mobile Card Devices

Secure in-person payments at fixed locations, around your premises or on the move.

Virtual Terminals

Take secure payments over the phone without dedicated hardware.

Payment Links & QR

Send customers a secure link or display a QR code for fast payment.

E-commerce

Integrated online checkout and shopping cart payment solutions.

POS

Connect sales, stock management and payments through one system.

Xero Invoicing

Enable card payments directly from eligible Xero invoices.

Multi-Bank Strategic Advantage

5 Key Benefits of using an Independent Broker with a relationship with 14 Banks vs. Direct to 1 Bank

Benefit 01
01

Higher Approval Rates Across All Risk Levels

A single acquiring bank operates strictly within its own risk appetite. If a business operates in a higher-risk industry (e.g., travel, ticketing, adult, crypto, or businesses with high chargeback potential or long delivery lead times), a traditional bank will often decline the application or impose heavy rolling reserves.

Advantage of Alliance Connectivity:Having access to a range of acquirers from low-risk to high-risk specialist banks ensures an application can be routed to a lender specifically tailored to accept that precise business profile.

Benefit 02
02

Tailored, Competitive Pricing

Single banks rarely offer competitive custom pricing unless a merchant is processing massive card volumes. They generally default to fixed tiering or higher standard transaction percentages.

Advantage of Alliance Connectivity:We can leverage competition between 14 different acquirers to tender out a business's processing volume. This yields substantially lower interchange fees, authorisation rates, and terminal rental costs.

Benefit 03
03

Protection Against Account Termination & De-risking

If a business relies on a single bank and that bank updates its risk policies, it can freeze funds or terminate the merchant account on short notice.

Advantage of Alliance Connectivity:Working with us provides a safety net. If one bank changes its policy or revokes a merchant account, the broker can quickly migrate the business to another acquirer in their network with minimal downtime or loss of revenue.

Benefit 04
04

Unbiased Hardware & Terminal Options

Going directly to a single bank restricts options to that bank’s proprietary hardware, which may be outdated or lack specific EPOS integrations.

Advantage of Alliance Connectivity:We select hardware based on what best suits the workflow—whether that's modern Android-based smart terminals (e.g., PAX, Castles, Ingenico), portable mobile devices, or countertop units—and pair it with the optimal back-end acquirer.

Benefit 05
05

Ongoing Dedicated Support & Advocacy

When dealing directly with a major bank, small to mid-sized businesses often face long support queues and automated call centres.

Advantage of Alliance Connectivity:We act as dedicated account managers. We advocate on behalf of your business directly with the bank's underwriting and risk teams, handling everything from PCI compliance assistance to fee audits and terminal replacements.

End-to-End Workflow

The Direct Debit Process

There are four structured stages to the automated Direct Debit collection lifecycle.

01

Collection & Forwarding

File Extraction & Bacs Submission

As the first step in automated Direct Debit processing, a collection file is produced either by extracting data from your main database or by the user. The file is forwarded to Bacs via Bacstel-IP, an approved Bacs bureau, or compatible online business banking.

02

Clearing & Processing

Automated Bank Routing

Once Bacs receives the Direct Debit collection file from the originating organisation, it forwards the payment request directly to the payer's bank based on sort code routing.

03

Transaction & Settlement

Same-Day Credit & ARUDD Reports

If the paying account has sufficient funds, the money is debited and credited to your account on the same day. For any unpaid items, an ARUDD report with reason codes is returned within 3 working days.

04

Indemnity Claims & Protection

<0.05% Claim Rate & Retention Care

Indemnity claim rates are under 0.05%. Our partners provide expert guidance through Direct Debit Guarantee claims, mitigating miscommunications and protecting customer retention.
